DELIVERY – The installation and follow-up of a project. The final, but equally important, phase of a natural stone project is its fabrication and installation. There are many different methods of fabrication. No one way is the “right” way.  The most important factor is experience. How long has the fabricator been around? Do they have the pertinent experience necessary? You would be surprised how many little shops have been around for less than five years, and an almost equal amount of companies have changed their name several times in order to ditch their bad reputation. Are their installation teams properly trained and using the right material handling equipment? Many companies will even do dry-cutting on site. This is very bad and very hazardous to the homeowner. How about a warranty? Is there a written warranty that you can see? And how good is that warranty if the company will not be around in 2 years to fix a problem. Finally, do they carry industry certifications and memberships in trade associations like the Marble Institute of America, National Association of the Remodeling Industry, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association?

Important note: the best way to ensure you are getting a reputable and professional natural stone contractor is to see if they are an Accredited Natural Stone Fabricator as designated by the Marble Institute of America.
