Limestone Countertops - A Great Home Addition

Long before a stone becomes a marble, it must first be a limestone. Limestones are characterized by the presence of fossils.  Some stones have almost no visible fossils, while our Yellow Dream limestone is densely packed with 500,000,000 year-old sea life.

Limestone countertops come in a wide variety of finishes. Like marble, honed or textured finishes should be considered for kitchen applications. Limestone comes in mostly yellow, brown, and red tones, although blues, grays, and blacks exist too.

Material note: Limestone can be used in almost any interior application.  It may be used in exterior applications, but exposure to weathering conditions can cause significant wear. Limestone is also porous and should be periodically sealed. Limestone can also stain easily.

Classification: Sedimentary

Examples: Jerusalem, Yellow Dream, Olive Fossil stone
