Quartzite Colors
This amazing stone is one of the hardest stones used in commercial applications. Originally formed from sandstone, quartzite generally is found in muted earth tones: grays, whites, browns, and yellows. There are of course exceptions like Tanzania Gold, that contains pinks, greens, and oranges.
Because quartzite is harder than granite and has exceptionally low moisture absorption, it is suitable for usage in most applications, though cost may be a consideration.
Material note:
When choosing a piece of quartzite, multiple samples should be viewed to ensure consistency, or selection of the actual slab should be made.
Classification: Metamorphic
Examples: Silver and Tanzania Gold quartzite
